Architecture and History of Art Library Circulation Desk
Proposal: June-Aug 2018 (Winning Proposal) Client: AHA Library, University of Cambridge The AHA library is a modern, yet historical gem of the Faculty of Architecture and History of Art; it is not only a place for discovering knowledge but also a productive space for the many artistic and intellectual talents in the faculty. The design of the desk resembles the monogram of the AHA Library, made up of the plan of the new desk, the spiral staircase and the characteristic arches in the library. The symmetrically-shaped desk provides enough space for 2 librarians and extra space for a temporary library helper. Movable under-desk cabinetry is suggested for extra storage space and/or possible extra work surface. 3 options are suggested in this submission, with primary focus on the AHA Monogram-shaped option (1).
